Sorry, I'd have to disagree with ol' ben franklin and I do think atheism is a religion- it is when man denies God and worships himself.

aahhh yes but we love ourselves ALL too much even being born again. Try to think of how many times today you really really worshiped God in everything putting Him first and giving Him the due glory.

Our first thoughts when we wake up

What we want to do today

What our prayers really are about.

I heard a great sermon on Covetousness and how anything that we want or desire more than God is sin. It doesn't have to be big and usually it"s those little sneaky things that we don't even pay attention to that are the big ones.

Have mercy on me Lord for I fall so short. Can't I just go home now?...

take a closer look at his quote. ...to shut the EYE OF REASON. he didn't say shut your eyes and be blind. think about it, it takes faith to believe the whole world's animals fit on a huge boat, that a whole sea was parted, that Moses wrote the first 5 books, that frogs fell from the sky, people rose from the dead, bears came out of the woods and malled people, that a bunch of lions did nothing when a person was in their cave, we believe them because the Bible says and we believe God but it's faith. These things are not under the category of reason. I had to think about that one for a while.

We watched this really good history thing on the founding fathers of America, and the way they based their society, government, schools, daily living all was based on their in depth study of the Bible. Included in their was Ben Franklin, a believer, hearing some of his testimonies.
