Miles

I have a goal to make it to 1000 miles on my bike by the end of "biking season." I had then made another goal to reach 500 miles by July 1st. (I've also had 4 flats this season). Last Monday I made the 500! I was so happy I did it! Then Jace throws out a, "betcha can't make it to 600 by then." Today is June 29th and I am at 587 miles. So, unless I wake up with another flat tomorrow or the Lord returns....I think I may hit the goal!

Mary Poppins?

Levi said today, "Mom, I want to make this fun sand, chalk thingy I made in art class. Do you have any flour?" I said, "Yes." He's like, "You know I need that kind that has Mary Poppins on it." I said, "Well, mine doesn't but I do have flour." He then says, "I need the kind, you know, with Mary Poppins with her umbrella in the rain?"

How many days old are you?

Date: 7 - 5 - 1973

I am 13495 days old.
That's 1927 weeks and 6 days.
Which is 36 years and 346 days, including 9 leap years*.
(= 36 years, 49 weeks and 3 days.)
Therefore, I am 36.9 years old.

I was born on a Thursday, my last birthday was a Sunday
and my next one will be on a Monday. Lord Willing.

So Big

Libs is getting so big (pic above is like 3 years ago at least!). Hate it and love it at the same time. She now gets in the shower herself, washes her own hair, gets her own clothes, and combs her own hair/brushes her teeth. It's a process and I can hear her in there readying herself. She comes out and is proud that she accomplishes all this by herself. I wonder if the process will get longer and longer? I wonder if she's gonna be a make-up girl? I wonder if she's always gonna have her sippee cup?

Good one

I thought I would see this on my pal Matt's blog. When he used to blog.

Flying

Whomever is without sin

While playing Bible trivia the other day we came across the story of the "possible stoning." I asked the boys, "Do you know this story?" It was familiar but not in the way the question was asked. I said, "So, if Jesus said whomever was without sin should cast the first stone, who cast the first stone?" Levi pipes up, "Jesus!"

Funny Signs

"Gun it! We'll make more"
-Tim Hawkins

I saw this sign in a neighborhood not far from my own. Haha funny!

Beauty

I did it. I don't care. I think it's gorgeous. I bought this foxglove for my side garden. A farmer before me in line said it's an annoying weed. I think it's glorious. Thank you Lord for your kazillion kinds of flowers!

Counting my blessings

Summer fun in the sun! The kids had a great day at the pool on Friday. It was so hot and gorgeous. What a blessing it is to have a pool. I sat by it yesterday imagining my dad out there digging the posts, the mudslide it was when we first began, the yard that used to be a dogtrack and full of trees. I remembered when dad was in the hospital asking me if there was anything of his that I might want. I told him I already have it dad-the family heirloom: the jaws rock from my pool growing up. Pete only had to do a little touching up on the teeth with some white paint. It's so incredibly awesome!
We have so many great memories. So many blessings and undeserved graces. I remember when Pete and I would sit on our back porch of our apartment in Vegas with a beer and a smoke and dream about what we might one day have. The Lord has given us so much; too much. He is good and I am grateful.

Cabin times

Here are a few blurry pics from the cabin. The kids had fun playing games on the trampoline and riding the 4-wheeler. Pete started Liberty riding on her own. Hate it! I don't care if he walks around with her. It's dangerous and she's too little. Look at her on there! She turned back to look at me once as if to say, "I'm big Mom. Don't worry." She doesn't realize that's my job!

Amazing

Although irises don't last that long in my garden, they are a beautiful cut flower. It must be my age but flowers excite me! I could look at them all day. I hope they have a beautiful flower garden in my nursing home cause I never get bored of them. Hear that kids?!

Beautious!

Jace made this beautiful chalk drawing in the driveway. He is quite an artist. Must take after his Gramma. ;O)

Girls are precious!

My friend Becca had a baby girl on May 22. What a precious little thing! Trista also was born on May 22 5 years ago. Here are a few of the girls with baby Brenna. In the funnyface one the girls asked Brenna to make a funnyface too. It was too cute!
