My Best Friend

Isn't this so cute?! Levi writes about his best friend Ben! So fun! In case you cannot see it it says:
My best friend is Ben A. Twohy. We love to play cops and robbers and his brother Jaye loves to play rough. We also love to play Zoo Tycoon. He has brown hair and blue eyes and he has a lot of legos. He has king and castle stuff and he has a lot of toys. He is a good Christian and he loves God. Im very happy to have a good friend like him. I saved his life twice. The first time I saved him from suffocating underwater. I pulled him out of the water. I loved Ben so much we became best friends.

Blueboy/girl

I gave Libs the bunny I used to have on my bed as a kid yesterday. I told her that I named him Blueboy when I was a kid. Why is it that all kids name their animals/toys/etc such boring names? Me included! Ya know, we name every dog we have Sparky and every cat we have Taz, right mom? Haha. Well, she was so happy when I gave her my prized stuffed animal that she turned him into a girl. It is the 21st century and very p.c. Ugh!

Thanks Mom!

Mom left these beautious flowers at our house when we were out of town this weekend. They are so gorgeous! Thanks Mom! There's nothing like coming home to flowers from Mom!

Winterwonderland!

A few weeks ago we had our first "slush-storm" of the season. It was a gorgeous Narnialand to behold! Trees were falling all around from the weight of this heavy snowfall. Cbass and I drove up to the cabin with the kids to meet Pete and Levi. Mom lost power and had to cook our grub at the hall. Die hard!

Grace

"I don't know what God is, or what God had in mind when the universe was set in motion. In fact, I don't even know if God exists, although I confess that I sometimes find myself praying in times of great fear, or despair, or astonishment at a display of unexpected beauty.
There are some ten thousand extant religious sects---each with it's own cosmetology, each with it's own answer for them meaning of life and death. Most assert that the other 9,999 not only have it completely wrong but are instruments of evil, besides. None of the ten thousand has yet persuaded me to make the requisite leap of faith. In the absence of conviction, Ive come to terms with the fact that uncertainty is an inescapable corollary of life. An abundance of mystery is simply part of the bargain---which doesn't strike me as something to lament. Accepting the essential inscrutability of existence, in any case, is surely preferable to its opposite: capitulating to the tyranny of intransigent belief.
And if I remain in the dark about our purpose here, and the meaning of eternity, I have nevertheless arrived at an understanding of a few more modest truths: Most of us fear death. Most of us yearn to comprehend how we got here, and why---which is to say, most of us ache to know the love of our creator. And we will no doubt feel that ache, most of us, for as long as we happen to be alive.

" Under the Banner of Heaven"
(I just finished this book about the Mormon faith. It was an incredible read I recommend).

I am amazed that I live each day knowing I am known by and know the Creator. What an amazing grace that God chose me in His incredible mercy! He didn't leave me in the dark wondering about 9,999 other belief systems. I am undone!

"For by grace you have saved thru faith; and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast."

Bored of same ol, same ol

Tired of the same recipes? Me too! Today we are having

Spaghetti Pie
6 oz drained spaghetti
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
2 eggs, well beaten
3/4 cup shredded parmesan
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 cup spaghetti sauce prepared with or without meat
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease 10 inch pie plate. Toss hot spaghetti with olive oil or butter. Combine eggs and 1/2 cup parmesan cheese. Stir into spaghetti. Pour spaghetti into prepared plate. Form into "crust." Spread ricotta cheese over crust. Top with spaghetti sauce. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes. Top with mozzarella cheese. Bake 5 minutes more or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Cool 10 minutes. Cut into wedges.

Libs also made this Ambrosia Salad

1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (8 ounce) can fruit cocktail, drained
1 (8 ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained
1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
3 cups miniature marshmallows)
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

In a large bowl, combine the whipped topping, fruit cocktail, pineapple, mandarin oranges, marshmallows, nutmeg and cinnamon. Mix together well and refrigerate for 30 to 45 minutes.

Had to put this on the blog so mom could read it, make adjustments, and make it for the elders since she won't be able to find her cookbook. ;O)

We'll take a picture later....

Bibles!

Libs was telling me the other day she has 4 Bibles! I was worried because I fear she's gonna collect them like a lot of us do right? I can't part with any of my 19 Bibles! She's on her way....
