The funeral

Levi was outside yesterday chasing a baby rabbit around the yard because he wanted a chase I guess. He never did catch it but it kept him occupied for about 10 minutes. Today I was checking my e-mail when he comes in with this "dripping varmit" in his hand. He said, "He's dead mom. He tried to take a swim and he's dead. Dead rabbit." I was totally grossed out and told him to get that rude thing outta here and wash his hands! I kept doing what I was doing but then walked by the window to check on him. He was sitting in the sandbox, eyes closed, head bowed, hands folded in prayer with his friend looking confused. I yelled out, "Leevs, what are you doing?" He replied, "I'm having a funeral." I said, "In the sandbox? You burried him in the sandbox?" He said, "Well, he needs to be burried." I said,"Someone will dig him up while they are playing." He said, "C'mon mom. No one is going to be scared of an ol dead rabbit." I said, "Burry him behind the big ol tire." So, he dug up the ol wet sandy rabbit and reburried him in the tire. He asked me if he could cut some of my flowers because whats a grave without flowers? I said sure and he cut a few of my irises and laid them on his grave." He then had a funeral for the rabbit which the neighbor and I attended in sackcloth and ashes. He also asked me to take a sad picture of the occassion. When we were done he said, "Can you please make a sign that says, "He was a good ol rabbit. His name was Ben."
