The last time

Today was the last day 2 years ago that I saw my dad alive. It was our last earthly goodbye until heaven. My dad asked me if I thought he was a good dad and if Pete made me happy. He told me to take the kids to this secret waterfall in Hastings where he hung out as a kid-Mill creek or something? I still haven't went there. He cried and it was sad. I knew I couldn't go back the night before I had Liberty. We had a good last visit together and that's what I wanted to remember. There is a song I clung to when my dad was dying and it makes my eyes water when I hear it to this day. You probably know it.

I Still Believe

Scattered words and empty thoughts
seem to pour from my heart
I've never felt so torn before
seems I don't know where to start
but it's now that I feel Your grace falls like rain
from every fingertip, washing away my pain

[Chorus:]I still believe in Your faithfulness
I still believe in Your truth
I still believe in Your holy word
even when I don't see, I still believe

Though the questions still fog up my mind
with promises I still seem to bear
even when answers slowly unwind
it's my heart I see You prepare
but its now that I feel Your grace fall like rain
from every finger tip, washing away my pain

[Chorus]The only place I can go is into your arms
where I throw to you my feeble prayers
in brokeness I can see that this was your will for me
Help me to know You are near

Praise God for His awesome grace, faithfulnesss, truth, and His Word! It's amazing!

Wow, If a person isn't touched by that touching story, Yikes to them...
I was honored to know your Dad, WE drew very close the last year, He taught me alot and we (JAMIE AND I) Got to spend alot of time talking to him about the blood of Jesus, and how christ died for all our sins once and for all, It was awesome to see a person change so much, He taught compassion

Praise God for how he worked in Dad's life! There are two Jars of Clay songs that remind me of Dad- "Fly" and "The Valley Song." I can listen to FLy now but I still boycott the Valley Song cause I hate being sad.

The best line in Fly is "Knowing that all the promises of faith come alive when you see home."
