The Many Faces of Libs

Although she is not in baseball, my mom gave her this sweet pink cap and she calls it her "baseball hat." Her brothers have them so why shouldn't she?

He mixed me up with someone else

Liberty said to me today, "Mom, you have three children." "Yep, you're right," I told her. Levi adds, "She also has one in her belly." I said, "No, I don't." He said yes several times until I said, "How do you know this?" He said, "The Lord told me last night." I said, "Really?", not believing him at all of course. I then said, "What did He say?" He said, "It was kind of confusing." He had a very serious look on his face. He then looked up and said, "The Lord said, Levi, step out into the night and count the stars in the sky....."

Ahhh, I think I've heard this story before. Phew! It's not me after all.

You did it!

Finally! No training wheels!

Words and deeds

John admonishes us, "Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth." In the biblical scheme of things, love is something we do, not just something we feel. Mercy is something we extend, not just something we intend. Hope is something we must act on, not just something we harbor. Our orthodoxy must be matched by orthopraxy. Our life together must be marked by both Word and deed.

Happy Mothers Day!

Happy mothers day mom! A story about a hilarious laugh we had this mothers day morn! Every few weeks mom comes and stays at our house to serve our family in an unbelievable way. She always sleeps downstairs on the futon next to the kids toy box. Last night as she was sleeping about every half hour or so she would hear, "I feel great." It was starting to drive her crazy because she couldn't figure out what it was and every time she would drift back into sleep it would wake her up. Pretty soon she started reaching her hand behind her pillow and into the toy box trying to destroy the toy that was continually telling her how great he felt. She said when she reached into the toybox the entire thing lit up like lightning! We were laughing so hard picturing her half asleep trying to remove the batteries from this annoying toy in the midst of a blast of lightning! She just couldn't get them out-probably needed a screwdriver! She said to the kids this morning, "What was it?!" We knew right away what it was because we have laughed before about how it randomly shouts out, "I feel great!" (As I write this post it is randomly shouting it out! I laugh every time!) She said, "I grabbed it and it had black and white striped pants!" She obviously couldn't quite tell in the dark and with the lightning flash it must have looked this way to her sleepy eyes. "Is there some kind of light up sword in there?" she asked. Jace just replied, "If you would have let him say it 11 times he would've eventually sang twinkle twinkle little star and started snoring."
