Pickles

"Mom, why do I have these pickles on my forehead?"
"What?"
"Why do I have these pickles on my forehead?"
"I don't understand?"
Libs pointed at her nose and said, "Like these."
I laughed, "Those aren't pickles. Those are freckles!"

Cinderella

Libs went to Disney on ice last week. What a time she had! A few days before she went a neighbor girl told her that when she was little she actually got to sit on Cinderellas lap! Liberty was in shock. Levi piped up from the backseat, "Didja ask her what it was like to have a stepmother?!"

Can't trick me!

Levi had a birthday party this past Sunday and all the family was there. Pete had brought home a PS2 game called, "Rockband" the night of his birthday. It came in a giant box so I decided to play the "trick" on him. Matt and Dana had gotten him a PS2game and I decided I would wrap it in the HUGE Rockband box. When he was opening it he and his friend were like, "Cool man! You have two of everything now!" My trick failed! I had to tell him to actually look in the box to see it was indeed a trick! He was so happy for the new game he just moved on.
Last night Pete told me that he said to him, "Dad, I know you were in on that trick. I know you gave Dana that box to wrap my Batman game in....."
Yep, sent that empty box to Ireland just for the sake of trickin a 7-year-old. Right.

Good one

Without sound repentance, sin is not accounted as the greatest evil-nor Christ as the greatest good.

Levi hates disease

Levi was riding in the back of the truck the other day and we had a conversation about disease. We were going over to Grampa Dans and Nancy was home from work in bed. She has breast cancer and she was down on her white count so we had to make sure we weren't going to be bringing any colds with us. He said to me. "I hate cancer!" I said, "Yeah, me too." He then said, "I hate leprosy too."
Yeah, thats real catchy today.

The talk

I had to have the "talk" with Jace. I was ready, prepared, prayed up, and confident. I had a couple of books and I'm so glad for that! I read the books and changed the "mommies" to mom and the "daddies" to dad and went on with the book. Who tells their kids the story of the birds and the bees when they are still calling them that is beyond me. When we got to the actual "how" babies happen he shouted out, "I am never gonna do that!" He was laughing and puzzled all at the same time and it was quite sweet, innocent, and funny. I'll never forget his face and the things he said; questions he asked. One down, two to go! Phew!

Explode The Code

This book is ridiculous! What 1st grader knows words like mob, jig, tot, hag, bog? There's more! Names in the book are like Dot, Bess, Pam, Gus, and Tex!??? What century was this book made? Where was it made? "Mom cuts logs in the hot sun?" Whose mom does this? Laura Ingalls?
My final thought? Don't buy this book for your 1st grade curriculum unless of course u live in the past!

Good quote

"I haven't always been a Christian. I didn't go to religion to make me happy. I always knew a bottle of (fill in the liquor) would do that. If you want a religion to make you feel really comfortable, I certainly do not recommend Christianity."

Goonies

You remember the Goonies right? Who doesn't remember Sloth? We were watching it at the part where Sloth saves the last of the Goonies and the scene changes right? Levi says to me, "Mom, what happened to Slut?"

Libs!

The other day Libs had a bathroom episode. Yep, they are so fun aren't they? She was trying to go "number 2" and was having some issues. She was in her room and I went in and she said. "Mom, can I take a bath? My butt is spicy."
