Queen Esthers

Tonight the girls had Bible Character night at AWANA. They decided to be Queen Esther 1 and 2. The AWANA staff made it clear they were not to dress up as Disney Princesses. Don't mind the Sleeping Beauty emblem on the front of one of the Esthers dresses. She was a prophetic Queen, knowing all about the "A.D. Princess era" to come. And no, those aren't ruby red slippers from some Wizard of Oz show. They are authentic Esther clogs. Leave it alone.

PETITION TO GOVERNOR PAWLENTY

I OPPOSE CONFORMING MINNESOTA LAW TO OBAMACARE!

I, the undersigned citizen oppose HF 3709 (Huntley and DFL co-authors) and SF 3296 (Lynch(D) and DFL co-authors) because the legislation will:
Make ObamaCare the Law of the Land in Minnesota. If passed, the bills will require Minnesota to conform to the unconstitutional government-takeover health care bill signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010. - p. 1, lines 2-3 (Legislation as introduced).
Mandate Purchase of Health Insurance: Individuals must have qualified coverage. Unlike ObamaCare, where there are hardship and other exemptions, including for those in medical sharing groups, there will be NO exceptions. Monthly penalties apply. - p. 13, line 32.
Expand Medicaid into the Middle Class with Taxpayer -Funded Subsidies: Tax revenue collected by the MinnesotaCare provider tax will be used to provide subsidies for individuals with incomes up to $43,320 and families of four with incomes up to $88,200. For families with children and adults without children, assets will be disregarded. - p. 1, line 29.
Establish a Government-Run "Exchange" for the Purchase of Health Insurance. The Exchange will limit access to insurance options, add a fee to individual & small business premiums, bill employers and collect individual premium payments (including by automatic payroll deductions). The Exchange Board of Directors will be government bureaucrats and political appointees--and the State will NOT be liable for actions of the Exchange. - p. 8, ln. 10.
Establish a Minnesota "Public Option": The Commissioner of Human Services must develop and offer a "publicly administered health plan" through the Minnesota Health Insurance Exchange. It must meet the federal requirements of ObamaCare. - p. 4, line 3.
Control Doctors and Cut Medicare Benefits: "The Commissioner of Human Services may enter into agreements with other states to establish a regional payment reform system to reimburse physician groups, integrated delivery systems and accountable care organization that provide services to Medicare enrollees. The regional payment reform system may use alternative payment systems that provide financial incentives for efficient, high-quality care [not defined]. The system may also modify the standard Medicare benefit set." - p. 3, line 26.

Getting ready

Levi is starting baseball in a few weeks and he has decided he would like to get in shape. He told Pete the other night he is on a diet. He knows that with baseball comes Jaces baseball. With Jaces baseball comes.....Rachel. He's loved Rachel since the day he saw her. She's almost 10, blonde, cute little freckled nose, blue eyes; a real Afton cutie. She's also a sweetheart. He has already told me, "I can hear it now, Levi Lundstrom. Rachel Lundstrom." He often worries that she could marry someone else. He asked me the other night, "What if I end up with a brown girl?" I told him God loves all colors of girls. What matters most is that the girl you marry (if you marry) loves Jesus with her whole life. He agreed and hopes that that girl is Rachel. ;o)

Statement of Truth

If a pastor doesn't believe that God's Word is enough on its own, he has no business teaching it in the first place.

Happy 8th Anniversary!

Yes, Matt and Dana are having their 8th wedding anniversary today hurray! So they had a child out of wedlock, yes. He's such a cutie though. Ha ha! Just kidding. That is their soon to be foreign exchange student! He hopefully will be spending a year abroad in Dublin, Ireland with them someday(very very soon). He looks at it as an opportunity and I look at it as relief. :O) Really though, I remember the day they got married. I was two weeks "un"-pregnant with Levi. I was an emotional wreck and never wanna see me in that huge blue dress. It was a beautiful Tucson day. I can smell the mountain air, can't you Tucson? I remember they had the most delicious wedding cake I have ever eaten. I remember dad holding Levi. I remember how beautiful Dana looked dancing with Pete! I remember the bubbles, my bubbles! Wishing you many more years of love and travels smoochers. :O)

Guess who?

My Mom

My Mom
My mom has dark brown hair with blonde highlights. Her eyes are green and have a burning stare. Her mouth is perfectly shaped as well as her nose. Her chin sticks out a little. Her neck is long and her shoulders are wide. She always wears a golden necklace of our 3 baby rings. She has long arms like a monkey and long legs like a giraffe. My mom is perfect.
DUH?!

Me and Libs

Wilderness

We all headed to The Wilderness last Tuesday for two days of hard core exercise. The place is great but couldn't we work on getting the parks a little nearer to each other. It's exhausting enough that the parks have killer stairs and death-defying waves. Do they really have to also make you walk a mile or two each way to enjoy these things? I LOVE it but I think it can get really tiresome for the kids. Did I mention the chlorine level is at a level that must be pushing lethal? We used to stay for two nights before we knew any better. The kids can only handle the one night and the two days in the park. Can you imagine the germs in this place? Don't. It might look clean and inviting but can it really be? People always say, "Oh, chlorine kills everything." Including my children? Have you ever had cigarette smoke in your eye? That's what my eyes feel like when I'm in there and the next morning after inhaling it for a day? I sound like the Marlboro man. Does it sound like I am complaining? It's a great time-you just can't think about it. Have you ever attempted "The Great Wave?" It is so awesome and puts any workout to shame! You have no choice if you dare to go out in it to keep EVERY muscle engaged if you want to live. It is an excellent workout and I can't believe people aren't scraped off the bottom hourly. I only know a handful of people who can be out in those waves without a tube.(Kudos to you my girlz) I seriously want one in my backyard. I put a clip of it on here so you could check it out. It doesn't even do it justice at all. PLUS, you can't really get a great look at all the people fighting for their lives. OR, the interesting swimsuits, tats, piercings, and people that go there. Another interesting thing about this place is that it has a glass roof. People are actually laying out, applying sunscreens and accelerators, and actually getting burnt! It's quite an experience and a memory we are sure to remember. :o)

A goal

My husband got me a sweet, new odometer reader for my bike for Valentines Day this year. It's pretty awesome. I actually had one I got out of a cereal box for the last two years. It worked pretty good but would stop every now and then. I figure last summer I biked somewhere around 700 miles, give or take a hundred? I can't be sure because I missed some miles and I never could quite reset it either. Come on, it was 2 UPC codes and a vial of blood or something. It said Disney Parks on it and was a bit kid-like. Don't care! I am very grateful to have this new one and to have my bike all tuned up and ready to rack up the miles. I went on my first big ride of the year yesterday. I biked 12 miles and it was a beautiful 65 degrees. I also biked a few the other day. My goal is 1000 miles by end of bike season. I also told Pete I'd like to maybe challenge biking halfway to the cabin or something. Sounds painful now as the first ride of the year always leaves me with "bike-butt." Ouch. I was trying to compute how many miles/rides a month that would be. I also have a rain factor and a wind factor-both which I dislike riding in. I'll keep updating cause I KNOW you care. I am sure there's a way to have a bike reader on my blogside somewhere but I'll leave that up to my blog designer. Thanks D. :O) The new look is trippin.
